The University of Georgia track and field program attracts prospects from far and wide thanks to the education the institution offers mixed with the elite product that Caryl Smith Gilbert and her staff develop each year. Xai Ricks arrived in Athens, Ga., from Long Beach, Calif., not far from where Bulldog throws coach Don Babbitt grew up.  Ricks has three siblings: Shai Hanson, Tai Hanson and twin sister Mai Ricks.  Track and field runs in the family for Ricks and his family: Mai competes for Sacramento State, cousin Kennadi Reed at Georgia Southern and aunt Taine Gibson competed for the University of Southern California.
