Walton County officially opened its new Building Department facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by commissioners, county officials, and residents. County Administrator Stan Sunday and Building Department Director Billy Bearden highlighted the facility’s positive impact on staff and residents. Bearden, celebrating 30 years with the county, shared how the initial design started as a simple sketch. The $16 million facility, funded entirely by permit and licensing fees, enhances efficiency and records management. Located at 117 East Sloss Avenue, the new office provides streamlined services for permits, inspections, and contractor licensing.
