No. 9 Gators Return Home for Clash against No. 15 Loyola

Last Updated: March 7, 2025By

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The ninth-ranked Florida lacrosse team (3-2, 0-0 Big 12) returns home to host the No. 15 Loyola Greyhounds (4-2, 1-0 Patriot) on Saturday at 12 p.m. First draw coverage can be found on ESPN+.

The Gators are coming off a 17-16 loss against James Madison, last Saturday in Charlotte. UF trailed by as many as eight goals and nearly overcame a seven goal fourth quarter defecit, outscoring the Dukes 6-1 in the fourth quarter.

Frannie Hahn Hero Ball

Florida was led by redshirt freshman Frannie Hahn, who logged a career day with seven goals and three assists. Hahn became the sixth Gator to record 10 or more points in a game and the first to do it since Brianna Harris totaled 10 points on May 8, 2021 against Temple. Hahn’s seven goals and 10 points both tied freshman program records, with the 10 points by a freshman last done on March 17, 2010 by Ashley Bruns.

Hahn leads the team in points (22) and assists, along with her 11 goals. She has recorded two or more points in all five games this season, including three or more in four games.

Series History

This is the 12th career meeting between these two programs, with UF leading the all-time series against the Greyhounds 7-4. The Greyhounds have won four of the last five matchups, including last year when they defeated the Gators in the season opener on Feb. 10 by a score of 18-10. Current players Ava Tighe and Gianna Monaco each recorded a goal, along with an assist from Gabbi Koury.

It is the eighth all-time and fifth consecutive top-15 matchup between Florida and Loyola, as the Gators own a 5-1 all-time record at home against the Greyhounds. The average goal differential in the previous 11 meetings has been 5.5 goals per game, with six of those matchups being decided by three goals or less.

Outlook on the Greyhounds

Loyola sits at 4-2 on the season, coming off a 14-10 home victory over Georgetown on Wednesday evening. The Greyhounds are led by the duo of Georgia Latch (13 goals, 24 assists) and Chase Boyle (23 goals, 1 assist) who have combined for 61 of the teams 126 points on the season, good for 48.4 percent of the Greyhounds offensive production. Boyle was a Tewaaraton finalist in 2024, while Latch is currently fourth in the nation in points per game (6.17 points/game) and tenth in draw controls per game (9.00 draw controls/game).

Loyola is coached by Jen Adams, who is in her 17th season. She owns a 231-79 record all-time as a head coach.
