Labaron Philon and Mark Sears Earn All-SEC Honors
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A pair of Alabama men’s basketball earned All-SEC honors, as the league office announced the 2025 men’s basketball awards on Monday. Mark Sears was named Southeastern Conference First Team All-SEC with Labaron Philon selected to the conference All-Freshman Team.
Sears becomes the fifth UA player in the last six years to be named First Team All-SEC under head coach Nate Oats. In his third year at Alabama, Sears has earned three-straight All-SEC selections and is the first UA player since Trevor Releford (2013 and 2014) to earn First Team All-SEC honors twice throughout their career. Philon becomes the eighth freshman under Oats to be named to the Freshman All-SEC Team.

- Named one of five finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, which annually recognizes the top point guard in Division I
- Becomes the ninth player in program history to be named First Team All-SEC twice throughout their career
- Averaging 19.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game this season
- Has scored 20-points or more in 18 games this year including a trio of 30-point games during conference play
- Ranks No. 7 on Alabama’s all-time scoring list with 1,854 career points
- Averaging 10.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game
- Named SEC Freshman of the Week three times throughout the season
- Scored double figures in 19 games this year and led UA in assists on nine occasions
- Ranks ninth in the SEC in assists (3.5 apg)
- Leads the Crimson Tide in steals, averaging 1.3 per contest
