GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida freshman outfielder Taylor Shumaker has been named the Southeastern Conference Co-Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Shumaker led the No. 3 Gators (26-2) to a 3-1 record on the week, including an SEC series victory on the road at No. 5/4 Texas A&M.

In Florida’s 11-0 victory at Houston on March 5, Shumaker went 3-for-4 at the plate with six RBI, the first Gator freshman to have six RBI in a game since Reagan Walsh in 2022.

Shumaker averaged .444 at the plate against the Aggies in her first SEC series, including a home run in the series opener on March 7.
