OCSO Criminal Investigation Division Executes Search Warrant in Organized Retail Theft Case

In the early hours of March 11th, members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) Criminal Investigation Division executed a residential search warrant at the home of Claudio Solano-Olascoaga, a suspect connected to an extensive organized retail theft operation spanning several months. Solano-Olascoaga is accused of masterminding a series of retail thefts across multiple stores in Okaloosa County and surrounding counties.
The investigation, which began months ago, revealed that Solano-Olascoaga employed a deceptive scheme to steal merchandise. Retail Loss Prevention Investigators from various stores, working in conjunction with OCSO investigators, were able to identify the suspect and his criminal activities after reporting significant financial losses.
As a result of the coordinated efforts between several law enforcement agencies and retail loss prevention investigators, Solano-Olascoaga was apprehended without incident at his residence during the execution of the search warrant. The arrest marks a significant step in addressing organized retail crime in the community and serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to protect local businesses from theft.
The OCSO Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate the case and gather further evidence, and additional charges may be forthcoming. Solano-Olascoaga is currently in custody, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to working alongside retailers and other law enforcement agencies to combat retail crime and ensure the safety and security of the community.
