Sixth-Ranked Gators Travel to Georgia for Matchup with Mercer

MACON, Ga. – The sixth-ranked Florida lacrosse team (5-2, 0-0 Big 12) will travel to Macon, Ga., to take on the Mercer Bears (3-4, 0-0 Big South) on Saturday at 2 p.m. from Five Star Stadium. Coverage can be found on ESPN+.
The Gators are coming off their second come-from-behind victory of the season, defeating No. 23 Navy 14-13 on Wednesday afternoon. The Gators trailed by as many as four goals, but outscored the Midshipmen 5-2 in the fourth quarter to secure the one goal victory.

This will be the sixth meeting between UF and Mercer, with Florida leading the all-time series 5-0.

Mercer comes into this matchup on a two-game winning streak, defeating No. 9 Clemson by a score of 11-10 on Tuesday. It was their first win in program history over a ranked opponent.

Freshman Clark Hamilton has recorded a hat-trick in four straight games, tying a freshman record for consecutive hat-tricks, done by Emma LoPinto in 2022. Hamilton leads the team in hat-tricks overall with five, and in goals with 21. The attacker has 15 goals over her last four games.
Gators Multiplying
Six different Gators recorded multi-goal games on Wednesday against Navy, good for the most multi-goal scorers in a UF game this season. Hamilton (3), Jordan Basso (2), Kaitlyn Davies (2), Gabby Greene (2), Josie Hahn (2) and Gianna Monaco (2) all recorded two or more goals in the win. It is the second game this season where UF has had five or more players with two or more goals.
Captains Stepping Up When Needed
Captain midfielders Kaitlyn Davies and Josie Hahn displayed effort on both ends of the field against Navy, both recording two goals, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and Davies pitched in two draw controls. The three ground balls and two caused turnovers were season highs for Davies and career highs for Hahn.
