Head Coach Nate Oats Postgame Comments
“To win this tournament, we had to be the toughest team on the floor and we were not today. Florida is a very good team. I thought they made a lot of tough plays starting right out of the gate in the second half, with all of the offensive rebounds in the first possession. I didn’t think we competed hard enough on the rebounds. We didn’t do a good enough job on defense. We started the second half on a Florida 17-5 run in the first five and a half minutes, which is not what you would expect out of this group to start the second half. We are going to have to regroup and see how bad we want to try to make a run again in the NCAA tournament this year. We will find out where we get sent and where we are going starting tomorrow. We will try to regroup and we did a pretty good job of regrouping last year. I think we can make another run this year.”
