No. 17 Alabama Baseball Wins 2-0 on Sunday, Earns Sweep of No. 19 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 17 Alabama baseball leaned on its pitching staff in its series finale at No. 19 Texas A&M, as the Crimson Tide secured the series sweep of the Aggies in Sunday’s 2-0 victory at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. The win improves Alabama to 20-1 overall and 3-0 in Southeastern Conference play.

Bobby Alcock (3-0) crafted a career-best effort on the mound in his fifth start of the spring, notching 7.0 scoreless innings to earn the win. The redshirt senior scattered four hits while picking up a career-best eight strikeouts. Alcock managed at least one strikeout in five of his seven innings, highlighted by four consecutive punchouts between the third and fourth innings. Braylon Myers entered in the eighth and retired all six hitters he faced, including a pair of strikeouts, earning his first save of the new campaign.

Kade Snell paced the Alabama offense, finishing 3-for-3 with two doubles and a solo home run as well as scoring both of the Tide’s runs. Will Plattner was 2-for-4 with an RBI double, while Coleman Mizell managed two hits in five at-bats. Will Hodo and Richie Bonomolo Jr. closed their respective evenings with one hit apiece.
