Clayton Completes First-Team All-America Sweep

Last Updated: March 19, 2025By

The NABC and USBWA announced Clayton as first-team All-America on Wednesday.

Florida men’s basketball senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. received first-team All-America honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) on Wednesday, adding consensus first-team All-American to his growing list of accolades.

The Lake Wales, Fla., native has swept first-team All-America honors from all four consensus selectors with today’s honors following those of the Associated Press and The Sporting News. Clayton has helped lead the Gators to its fourth 30-win season, fifth SEC Tournament championship and third No. 1 NCAA Tournament seed in program history.

He is the first Gator to earn first-team All-America honors from any outlet and the first to be honored as an All-American on all four major teams. Clayton is coming off an SEC Tournament MVP performance last weekend, leading Florida to its first SEC Tournament championship since 2014.

Florida returns to the court in first-round NCAA Tournament action Friday at 6:50 p.m. vs. Norfolk State in Raleigh, N.C., airing on TNT.
