Florida Tennis Welcomes Morgan State for Thursday Contest
After a weekend on the road, UF has evened its record to 6-6 and will welcome three opponents to the Ring Tennis Complex this weekend. Morgan State will be Florida’s first contest of the weekend starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

The Gators return home for a weekend at Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex. UF will face off against Morgan State on Thursday before resuming SEC play on Friday and Sunday.
The Gators are set to host the Bears after a 4-3 win over then-ranked No. 21 Alabama on Sunday afternoon. UF also saw success at Mississippi State last weekend sweeping them 4-0 on Mar. 14. Florida will now look to extend its win streak to three before welcoming two SEC opponents this weekend.
Morgan State (4-7, 0-0 MEAC)
LAST TIME OUT
Florida’s last match was against then-ranked No. 21 Alabama on Sunday afternoon. The Gators defeated the Crimson Tide 4-3 in a back-and-forth battle in Tuscaloosa. Florida was able to secure the doubles point early, with wins on both courts two and three. The Gators’ advantage heading into singles led them to a team victory after taking courts one, two, and five.
Alicia Dudeney and Bente Spee aided the Gators in securing the doubles point as they closed out the first match with a 6-4 win over Petra Sedlackova and Margaux Maquet. Nikola Daubnerova and Rachel Gailis sealed the doubles point defeating Sara Nayar and Klara Milicevic 7-5.
Dudeney got things started on the singles side overpowering Maria Andrienko in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. Spee followed with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Maquet, and ranked Gator No. 39 Gailis closed out for UF defeating No. 79 defeating Sedlackova 3-6, 6-2, 6-0.
ABOUT MORGAN STATE
Ahead of Thursday’s matchup, Morgan State is 4-7 overall and has yet to play a conference matchup in the MEAC. The Bears will enter conference play after their trip to Gainesville. MSU’s most recent contest was a 4-0 victory against the Milwaukee Panthers and they will face Rider University on Thursday morning in Orlando before making their way to UF.

FLORIDA IN THE RANKS:
The Gators currently sit at No. 22 in the ITA rankings and have individuals in both the singles and doubles categories. Gailis sits at No. 39 in singles as she works her way back up the ranks, and Dudeney is in the top 100 at No. 91.
In doubles, Gailis and Dudeney remain at No. 6 after their run to the final four in the NCAA Tournament, and the duo of Dudeney and Bente Spee have cracked the rankings at No. 60.
