Alabama Prepares for NCAA Tournament Round of 32 Contest vs. Maryland
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 5 seed Alabama women’s basketball team began its preparation for Monday’s NCAA Tournament Round of 32 matchup vs. No. 4 Seed Maryland. Tipoff between the Crimson Tide and Terrapins is set for 4 p.m. CT (5 p.m. ET) on ESPN2.
Alabama (24-8) used Sunday afternoon to prepare with a 90-minute practice inside the Xfinity Center. Following the practice session, select UA student-athletes Sarah Ashlee Barker, Zaay Green and Aaliyah Nye and head coach Kristy Curry met with media.

The Crimson Tide advanced to Monday’s matchup after defeating 12th-seeded Green Bay, 81-67, on Saturday afternoon. Zaay Green and Aaliyah Nye led Alabama as the duo combined for 45 points and seven assists. The Terrapins defeated No. 13 seed Norfolk State, 82-69, to improve to 24-7 overall this season.
A victory over Maryland would give Alabama its first Sweet 16 appearance under Curry and first since the 1997-98 campaign.
