PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The seventh-ranked Florida lacrosse team (7-2, 0-0 Big 12) continues its four-game road trip, as the Gators take on No. 15 Penn (4-2, 1-0 Ivy) on Wednesday at 12 p.m.

It is the second career matchup, with Florida winning the previous meeting 17-13 on April 1, 2023 in Gainesville. Josie Hahn recorded three goals in that victory, along with two goals from Ava Tighe and one goal from Kaitlyn Davies.

UF is currently riding a four-game winning streak, defeating No. 15 Clemson by a 16-10 margin last Thursday. The Gators trailed by three goals three different times in the first quarter, but outscored the Tigers 7-1 in the second quarter to earn their third come-from-behind victory of the season.

Outlook on the Quakers

Penn is riding a two-game winning streak, earning their first ranked win of the season last Wednesday at No. 16 Loyola 12-10.

The Quakers are led offensively by Anna Brandt who leads the team in goals (22) and points (23). She is coming off a five-goal performance at Loyola. Penn is coached by Karin Brower Corbett, who owns a 269-136 record, currently in her 26th season at Penn.

Davies Doing It All

Junior midfielder Kaitlyn Davies is coming off a four goals, three ground balls, five draw controls and five caused turnovers performance on Thursday against Clemson. Davies set career highs in goals and caused turnovers, while tying career highs in ground balls and draw controls. The junior joins Shannon Kavanagh as the second different Gator to record three or more goals, three or more ground balls, five or more caused turnovers and five or more draw controls in a game.

The More the Merrier

Florida had six players total multi-goal games on Thursday, showcased by Davies (4), Jordan Basso (3), Gabby Greene (2), Gianna Monaco (2), Josie Hahn (2) and Jenny Markey (2). It was the third consecutive game UF has had five or more players record two or more goals, and the fourth time overall this season. UF owns a 4-0 record in those games.

Road Warriors

The Gators own a 4-0 record in designated road games this season, and have won 12 consecutive road games going back to last season. UF has won their four road games by an average of 6.75 goals per game this season and have captured two ranked wins. Throughout the overall 12 game winning streak, Florida has knocked off five ranked opponents.
