GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida lacrosse team had three athletes represented as Big 12 Players of the Week, announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Theresa Bragg earned Big 12 Defender of the Week, Kaitlyn Davies earned Big 12 Midfielder of the Week and Gabby Greene corralled Big 12 Freshman of the Week. The three players played crucial roles in the Gators going 1-0 this past week, with a 16-10 victory over Clemson.

Theresa Bragg – Defender of the Week – Severna Park, Md.

Bragg earns her second defender of the week honor this season, after posting two ground balls and two caused turnovers last week against Clemson. The captain was able to stifle the Tigers leading scorer Lindsey Marshall, holding her to just one goal, while she had four turnovers. The Severna Park, Md. has caused a team high 16 caused turnovers along with 12 ground balls through nine games. She has three games with two or more caused turnovers and two or more ground balls.

Kaitlyn Davies – Midfielder of the Week – Wayne, N.J.

Davies takes home her first midfielder of the week award this season, after earning an AAC Defender of the Week nod last season.

The captain totaled four goals (career high), three ground balls, five caused turnovers (career high) and five draw controls in one game last week. The junior became the second player in Gators history to log three or more goals, three or more ground balls, five or more caused turnovers and five or more draw controls in a game. Davies has recorded 20 goals, two assists, 10 caused turnovers, 11 ground balls and 14 draw controls through nine games this season. She has logged four hat-tricks and five consecutive multi-goal games.

Gabby Greene – Freshman of the Week – Wayne, N.J.

Greene wins her first freshman of the week award this season and brings home the third consecutive freshman of the week honor as a team for the Gators.

The Edgewater, Md. native corralled two goals, two ground balls and three draw controls in the win over Clemson. Greene has totaled three multi-goal games this season and has scored in four consecutive games, along with eight draw controls over her last four outings. The freshman has logged nine goals, one assist, six ground balls, three caused turnovers and 15 draw controls this season.
