Florida State is 21-3 overall, 16-2 at home, 4-1 on the road and 1-0 at a neutral site. FSU leads the ACC with a 5-1 record. Each of FSU’s first 24 games have come inside the state of Florida, with the series at Notre Dame the first outside the team’s home state.
NOLES BY THE NUMBERS

NATIONALY-RANKED SEMINOLES
The Seminoles are in the top six in every major poll for a fourth consecutive week, including at No. 4 in the D1Baseball top-25. They also are No. 4 in the Coaches poll and No. 6 according to Baseball America, NCBWA, Perfect Game and The Athletic. College Baseball Central has FSU at No. 3.
SERIES HISTORY VS. NOTRE DAME
Florida State is 25-16 all-time against Notre Dame, including 8-7 on the road, 16-7 at home and 1-2 at a neutral site. Since the first meeting at ACC foes in 2014, an FSU sweep, the Seminoles are 20-12, though that includes a 2-5 mark from 2021-22 when current Florida State head coach Link Jarrett was leading the Fighting Irish. In Jarrett’s first two seasons back in Tallahassee, the Noles are 4-2 against ND, with a three-game home sweep in 2024.
A five-run first inning helped FSU to an 8-4 win on March 15, 2024. Drew Faurot had two hits and Cam Leiter earned the win for the Seminoles. The next day was a 4-2 victory, as Lodise had two hits and Jaxson West had a hit, an RBI and a run scored while Arnold got the win. A 4-3 win secured the sweep as Florida State scored two in the fifth and one in the sixth to erase a 3-1 deficit.
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING IRISH
Notre Dame is 13-9 on the season, 2-3 at home, 9-6 on the road and 1-8 in ACC competition. The Fighting Irish are coming off a 9-6 win over Michigan State on Wednesday, a victory that followed getting swept by Georgia Tech at home. Against ranked opponents, ND is 1-5, with three losses at No. 15 Wake Forest and two defeats at No. 10 Clemson before a 7-3 win in the finale on March 16.
Parker Brzustewicz leads the team with a .378 average, 28 hits and five doubles. Bino Watters has 23 RBI and shares the team lead of five home runs with Estevan Moreno. Rory Fox has a 3.66 ERA with 27 strikeouts in five starts and 19.2 innings pitched. In 11.2 innings in relief, Tobey McDonough has a 2.31 ERA in eight appearances.
UP NEXT: BACK HOME AT HOWSER
The Seminoles return home for the first time in two weeks with a midweek matchup against Jacksonville on April 1 at 6 p.m. ET. Tickets are available at Seminoles.com/Tickets or by calling the FSU ticket office at 850-644-1830. Admission is free for all FSU students with their I.D.
LAST TIME OUT: NOLES WALK OFF GATORS IN GRAND SLAM FASHION
Lodise hit a walk-off grand slam as Florida State defeated Florida 8-4 on Tuesday night in Jacksonville. The walk-off grand slam gave the Seminoles a dramatic win and capped a five-run ninth inning. FSU led 3-2 entering the ninth before the Gators scored two in the top of the inning to take a 4-3 lead.
In front of a sold-out crowd at Jacksonville’s VyStar Ballpark, Lodise’s grand slam was FSU’s first walk-off home run since 2022. The blast punctuated a four-hit, four-RBI day where he hit for the cycle, the first of his career and Florida State’s first since 2019. Lodise is believed to be the first player in college or professional baseball history to complete a cycle with a walk-off grand slam.

SIX PRO NOLES SET FOR MLB SEASON
Six former Florida State players have been named to their respective teams’ Opening Day rosters: Tyler Holton with the Tigers, Cal Raleigh with the Mariners, Cole Sands with the Twins, Cam Smith with the Astros, Taylor Walls with the Rays and Luke Weaver with the Yankees. Additionally, Kevin Cash returns as the manager of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Smith makes his major league debut with the Astros 284 days after his final game as a Seminole, on June 16, 2024, at the College World Series. He is the third-quickest position player to make it from the minors to an MLB Opening Day Roster and the 19th to do it with fewer than 100 games played in the minors. Smith is the 81st MLB player in FSU history.
