McCann Places Seventh at Azalea Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Florida State senior Patrick McCann finished in the top 10 at the 77th Azalea Invitational, that was held at the Country Club of Charleston, March 27-30.
 
Played two weeks before the Masters, the Azalea Invitationals features top amateurs, juniors and college golfers from all over the world.
 
McCann finished each round within the top 10, tying for seventh place at 4-under, 280.  The Tallahassee, native, opened the tournament on Thursday shooting 69 and carded 72 on Friday to finish well within the cut line.  On Saturday, McCann jumped to third place following a round 67 and closed the weekend shooting 72 on Sunday.
 
Signee Shawn Coultoff also finished within the top 10, tying for ninth place at 3-under, 281. Coultoff opened shooting 71 and followed with his best round on Friday, scoring 68. Coultoff added two rounds of 71 to close out the tournament.
 
Florida State will head to the Lewis Chitengwa Invitational, running from April 14-15 at the Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Virginia.
