No. 4 Softball Secures Series Sweep Over Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 4 Florida softball team capped off a road series sweep of Auburn at Jane B. Moore Field for the first time since 2011 on Sunday afternoon, downing the Tigers 4-3.

Reagan Walsh led the scoring for Florida (33-5, 6-3 Southeastern Conference), driving in two runs with her sixth double of the season.

With a 3-for-4 day at the dish, Kendra Falby moved into second all-time in career hits at Florida, jumping Amanda Lorenz.

In the circle, Ava Brown (8-0) picked up her second SEC win of the season, allowing one run in 3.2 innings with a strikeout.

Katelynn Oxley earned her second career save, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout to close out the sweep over the Tigers (22-14, 0-12 SEC).

NOTABLES:

  • The Gators have now won 16 straight series over Auburn going back to the 2006 season

    • Today was Florida’s first sweep of the Tigers since 2020 in Gainesville and first in Auburn since 2011

  • Senior Kendra Falby now has 304 career hits which ranks as second-most in program history

    • Kelsey Stewart (2013-2016) holds the school record (357)

  • Falby and senior Rylee Holtorf each hit a team-best .500 in the series, while Reagan Walsh led the team with five RBI
  • Three different Florida pitchers earned victories over the Tigers this weekend: Kara Hammock, Ava Brown and Keagan Rothrock
  • Brown now holds a 7-4 career record in the circle in SEC play

    • She has a 24-5 career record overall  

  • All four of Florida’s runs were scored in the third inning, with the Gators plating four runs on five hits
  • Falby stole her 31st base of the season, which ranks as the sixth-most in a single season in program history

    • She now has 113 career stolen bases and is seven away from setting a new school record. Skylar Wallace currently holds the career record with 119
    • This season, she is 31-32 on the base path
