Clayton Adds Wooden All-America and Top 5 Honors

Clayton adds to one of the most decorated seasons in Florida men’s basketball history.

Florida men’s basketball senior guard Walter Clayton Jr., already a consensus first-team All-American, added John R. Wooden Award All America and Top 5 honors, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced on Tuesday.
 
A native of Lake Wales, Fla., Clayton has put together one of the most decorated seasons in Florida history as he has helped lead the Gators to their sixth Final Four berth.
 
Clayton has averaged 22.3 points per game in NCAA Tournament play, earning NCAA Tournament West Region Most Outstanding Player honors. He scored eight points over the final three minutes on Saturday vs. Texas Tech, part of Florida’s 18-4 run to close the game and clinch its trip to the Final Four.
 
Florida returns to the court for the on Saturday at 6:09 p.m. EDT vs. Auburn in San Antonio, Texas, airing on CBS.
