Noles Gear Up for Rival Florida and Virginia

  • FSU is one of the hottest teams in the country, and that will be put to test this week as they host No. 4 Florida on Wednesday and Virginia who received votes in the this week’s ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll.
  • Wednesday’s matchup will be a top 10 matchup in front of an expected sold out crowd at JoAnne Graf Field.
  • Florida comes in with a 33-5 record and a 6-3 record in SEC play. The Gators are coming off a series sweep at Auburn last weekend.

  • Wednesday will be the 13th time the Noles and the Gators have met as top 10 opponents.
  • There is usually no bigger game on the schedule in terms of attendance than when FSU and Florida get together at The Plex. The top four largest crowds at the Seminole Softball Complex have come during a Florida State vs. Florida game.
  • Virginia is 25-10 this season with a 7-5 record in ACC play. The Cavaliers hold ranked wins over Kentucky, UCLA and Virginia Tech
  • Virginia is coming off a series loss to the hands of Notre Dame last week.
