TALLAHASSEE-  Florida State junior guard Ta’Niya Latson was one of the 10 players named to the 2024-25 John R. Wooden Award Women’s All-America Team on Tuesday.

The Miami native led the nation in scoring, finishing the season averaging 25.2 points per game as the Seminoles led the nation with 86.9 points per game.

Latson became the fastest to score 2,000 points in Florida State basketball history and closed out the season as the nation’s leading scorer with 25.2 points per game. She set the FSU single-season scoring record, passing the mark that Sue Galkantas set in 1981-82 (710), finishing with 731 points.

A three-time All-ACC first team selection, Latson earned All-America second team honors by the Associated Press, becoming the first Seminole in history to capture first, second or third team honors.

Latson was also a finalist for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and is a finalist for WBCA All-America along with Makayla Timpson.  She also captured second-team All-America by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

The student-athletes selected for the Wooden Award All-America Team are considered strong candidates for the 2025 John R. Wooden Award® Women’s Player of the Year. Deloitte tabulated all ballots and certified the results, ensuring strict adherence to established voting procedures.

The selection process is overseen by a National Advisory Board, which compiles a National Ballot featuring the top candidates who meet the award’s criteria, including a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00. This ballot is distributed to a panel of voters composed of sportswriters and sportscasters from across the country. Deloitte collects and verifies these votes to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the final results.
