Road Rage Incident Leads to Arrest for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon

A man who witnesses say used his pickup truck to ram another individual’s vehicle multiple times during a road rage incident Sunday in Destin is charged with aggravated battery using a deadly weapon and resisting arrest without violence.
42-year old Anthony Daniels of Destin was taken into custody Sunday evening by Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
They found the victim’s car near Regatta Bay Boulevard and Emerald Coast Parkway.
Witnesses told responding deputies a black pickup truck rammed into the back of the victim’s car several times and then pushed it down the road around 3:15 p.m. Sunday.
They say the driver, later identified as Daniels, continued to drive aggressively by speeding by the car and sideswiping it before the victim was ultimately forced off the road.
Daniels initially resisted being taken into custody by the OCSO,
causing a deputy to suffer an ankle injury.
He was charged with resisting arrest without violence.
Daniels and a passenger in his truck say the other driver was weaving in and out of traffic in the rain, and someone in his car threw something at them and hit their truck.
