AUGUSTA, Ga. – Junior All-American Mirabel Ting has jumped to the No. 2 spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking giving the Florida State women’s golf team the No. 1 (Lottie Woad) and No. 2 (Ting) players in this week’s WAGR. Woad has been ranked in the No. 1 position for 34 consecutive weeks while Ting has been ranked inside the top five for 18 weeks and moved into the No. 2 ranking as of April 2.

Both Woad and Ting began play in the sixth annual Augusta National Women’s Amateur on April 2. The first two rounds of the competition are played at the Champions Retreat (just outside of Augusta) while the final round is played on Saturday at the famed Augusta National Golf Course. The entire field of 72 – including 49 of the top 50 amateur players in the world – play in the two rounds on Wednesday and Thursday with the top 30 golfers advancing to play at Augusta National in the championship round on Saturday.

Woad has been ranked No. 1 in the WAGR for 39 of the last 41 weeks since first earning the spot on June 12, 2024. She held the position for five consecutive weeks before briefly losing the top ranking only to ascend back to the No. 1 spot on July 31, 2024, where she has remained in the top ranking in the world.

As she begins play in the ANWA for the second time in her career, Ting has been a constant in the WAGR top 10 since September 25, 2024, when she entered the WAGR top 10 at No. 8. She moved to No. 6 (October 30, 2024), earned the No. 5 position (November 13, 2024), was bumped up to No. 4 (December 18, 2024), reached the No. 3 spot earlier this year (February 5, 2025), and now sits at No. 2 for the first time in her career (April 2, 2025).

“We are so very proud of Lottie, Mirabel, and all of our players,” said head coach Amy Bond as she walked with Woad at Ting in the first round of the ANWA. “It’s exciting for our program to have the top two ranked players in the world. As we begin post-season play, the experiences that Lottie and Mirabel continue to gain will be very valuable for our team.”

Florida State begins play in the ACC Championship at the Sedgefield Country Club on April 16.
