TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – In a matchup between two of the top five teams in the ACC standings, the No. 4 Florida State baseball team hosts Wake Forest from April 4-6 at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.
 
The series begins on the ACC Network on Friday, April 4, at 8 p.m. ET, followed by a 4 p.m. contest on Saturday, April 5. Sunday’s finale is at 1 p.m.
 
Tickets are available for Sunday’s game at Seminoles.com/Tickets or by calling the FSU ticket office at 850-644-1830. Friday and Saturday are sold out, but fans can purchase tickets on SeatGeek. Limited tickets for FSU students remain available, and admission is free for FSU students with their I.D. at the Haggard Plaza right field gate.
 
Friday is a whiteout, and fans are encouraged to wear white to cheer on the Seminoles. The Marching Chiefs will be at the game and will begin playing at 7:10 p.m. There also will be an FSU shirt giveaway for early-arriving fans on Friday. Saturday is the team’s Military Appreciation Game. Sunday is First Responders Day, where first responders can receive discounted tickets by contacting the FSU ticket office. Additionally, at every Sunday regular-season home game in 2025, Kids Club members and youth wearing their little league jerseys will be admitted free, and kids 12 and under will be allowed to run the bases postgame.
 
Friday night’s game will be broadcast live on the ACC Network. Saturday and Sunday’s contests are on ACC Network Extra (Saturday | Sunday), accessible through your television provider or a subscription to ESPN+. A trio of Florida State left-handers will face three Wake Forest rightys this weekend. Two juniors square off in the opener, with FSU’s Jamie Arnold (3-1, 3.07 ERA) against WF’s Luke Schmolke (3-0, 2.14 ERA). Saturday will see the Seminoles’ redshirt junior Joey Volini (7-0, 1.25 ERA) toe the rubber against the Demon Deacons’ junior Logan Lunceford (4-2, 4.36 ERA). Two sophomores get the ball in the finale, as Florida State’s Wes Mendes (4-0, 2.83 ERA) faces Wake Forest’s Blake Morningstar (3-0, 2.29 ERA).
 
Florida State is 24-4 overall, 17-2 at home, 6-2 on the road and 1-0 at a neutral site. FSU leads the ACC with a 7-2 record, its best since a 7-1 start in 2016. The team has won its first three ACC series for the first time since 2022, with two road series wins in the first three not coming since 2012. The Seminoles have won three in a row and five of their last six, including an 11-10 victory on Tuesday vs. Jacksonville.
 
NOLES BY THE NUMBERS
FSU has scored 252 runs on 328 hits with a .331 batting average, 58 home runs, 125 walks and 37 stolen bases. The pitching staff owns a 3.92 ERA with 105 earned runs allowed in 241.0 innings with 185 hits, 315 strikeouts and 121 walks.
 
Junior infielder Alex Lodise leads the team with a .463 batting average, 56 hits, 37 RBI, 10 doubles and 103 total bases and is second with 11 home runs. Junior outfielder Max Williams paces the squad with 14 home runs and is second with 33 RBI. Junior outfielder Gage Harrelson has nine stolen bases and is second with a .378 average and 45 hits. On the mound, junior lefty Joey Volini is 7-0 with a 1.25 ERA, 63 strikeouts and nine walks in 43.1 innings. Among relievers, sophomore righty Chris Knier has a 2.25 ERA with 20 strikeouts and four runs on 10 hits in 16.0 innings.
 
NATIONALY-RANKED SEMINOLES
The Seminoles are ranked in the top six in every major poll for a fifth consecutive week, including at No. 4 in the D1Baseball top-25. They also are No. 4 in the NCBWA and Coaches polls and No. 6 according to Baseball America, Perfect Game and The Athletic. College Baseball Central has FSU at No. 4.
 
SERIES HISTORY VS. WAKE FOREST
Florida State is 97-38 all-time against Wake Forest, including 51-16 at home, 32-16 in Winston-Salem and 14-6 at a neutral site. The two teams met four times in 2024, with WF taking two-of-three in Winson-Salem before FSU notched a 9-6 win in the ACC Championship. The series is an even 5-5 since 2022, with neither team winning more than two in a row.
 
Last year from April 19-20, FSU suffered a 5-4 loss in the opener, as WF erased a 3-1 deficit with the help of two in the eighth. Williams had three hits to highlight Florida State’s current players in the contest. It was a doubleheader the next day that began with a 10-9, walk-off loss. The Seminoles won the nightcap 9-6 behind a three-run ninth inning. Lodise had three hits, an RBI and two runs scored in the victory and Connor Hults picked up the win. On May 25, a 9-6 win sent Florida State to the ACC Championship Game as the Garnet and Gold erased a 3-0 deficit. Williams had another three hits and four RBI and Drew Faurot notched two hits and two RBI while John Abraham earned the win with 2.0 scoreless innings in relief.
 
SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS
Wake Forest is 21-9 on the season, 16-5 at home, 4-4 on the road and 1-0 at a neutral site. The Demon Deacons are 7-5 and tied for fourth in the ACC after a trio of losses at home to Virginia Tech. WF opened ACC play with sweeps of Notre Dame and Miami before a series loss at No. 7 Clemson and the sweep by Virginia Tech. With a 2-2 record against top-25 opponents, Wake Forest comes to Tallahassee after a 13-1 win over High Point on Tuesday night.
 
The Demon Deacons are ranked No. 18 in the latest Baseball America rankings, No. 23 in the Coaches Poll and No. 24 according to Perfect Game.
 
Kade Lewis leads the team with a .447 batting average, 46 hits and 10 home runs. Marek Houston also has 10 homers and boasts 43 RBI with 45 hits. Chris Levonas owns a 2.03 ERA in five starts and 13.1 innings, while Logan Lunceford’s 58 strikeouts paces the team.
 
UP NEXT: MIDWEEK RIVALRY, PART THREE
Florida State faces in-state rival Florida on Tuesday, April 8. Broadcast live on ESPN2, first pitch in Gainesville is at 7 p.m. ET. The contest is the 2025 series rubber match between the two teams after UF took the opener in Tallahassee on March 11 and FSU earned an 8-4, walk-off win on March 25 in Jacksonville.
 
LAST TIME OUT: FSU RALLIES TWICE FOR TUESDAY WIN
Florida State erased two early-inning deficits to beat Jacksonville 11-10 on Tuesday night. In their return home after a season-long seven game roadtrip, the Seminoles rallied from down 5-0 in the first inning to lead 6-5 after two. The Dolphins answered to retake a 7-6 advantage, but FSU responded right back with a three-run fourth and added two in the seventh before halting a two-run comeback attempt in the ninth.
 
Williams hit two home runs and redshirt freshman designated hitter James Hankerson Jr. homered for the second time in as many games, the first two blasts of his career while making his first two starts. With the victory, Florida State improves to 137-42 all-time against Jacksonville. FSU has won six in a row in the in-state series and two this year with one more meeting set for May 6 at Howser.
