McGill Named to WBIT All-Tournament Team
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Following an impressive postseason performance, Florida guard Liv McGill has been named to the 2025 Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) All-Tournament Team. Despite the Gators’ run ending in the semifinals, McGill’s standout play throughout the tournament earned her the recognition as a freshman.
McGill was a key force for the Gators, averaging 17.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game across UF’s four tournament matchups. McGill’s WBIT performance can be highlighted by back-to-back 22-point performances against UNLV and Texas Tech, to secure Florida’s spot in the semifinals.
McGill’s all-around contributions also included an average of 3.5 steals per game, demonstrating her efficiency on both ends of the hardwood. Overall, McGill played a pivotal role in Florida’s deep tournament push, concluding with a standout game in the semifinals against Minnesota, where she posted 18 points and nine rebounds.
Despite falling short to the 2025 WBIT champions, McGill’s impact did not go unnoticed, as she solidified herself as one of the tournament’s top performers. “Liv was instrumental in our success throughout the WBIT,” said Florida head coach Kelly Rae Finley. “Her leadership, play making, and intensity as a freshman set the tone for our team, and this honor is well-deserved.”
