No. 5 Beach Volleyball to Host Unconquered Invitational

TALLAHASSEE – The No. 5 Florida State beach volleyball team will host the Unconquered Invitational and celebrate Seminole Heritage April 4 and 5. FSU’s final home tournament of the season will host No. 8 Texas, No. 10 LSU, No. 15 Florida Atlantic, South Carolina, and USF. 

The Seminoles open play on Friday against No. 8 Texas at 12:45 p.m., followed by No. 10 LSU at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, FSU will play USF at 9:00 a.m., followed by No. 15 Florida Atlantic at 11:30 a.m., then close the weekend against South Carolina at 3:15 p.m. Live stats will be available on Seminoles.com. 

The Seminoles are coming off a 2-2 performance at the Death Volley Invitational last weekend in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, beating four-time defending National Champions No. 4 USC as well as No. 9 Long Beach State. Carra Sassack and Bailey Higgins posted a 3-1 record on court three, playing a big role in Florida State’s success.

FSU will open the weekend against the eighth-ranked Longhorns in their second meeting of the season. The Seminoles swept Texas in their previous meeting in Fort Worth, Texas. The Longhorns are coming off a 1-3 weekend in Baton Rouge where they defeated Long Beach State and fell to No. 5 Stanford, No. 1 UCLA, and USC. 

The Noles will then play No. 10 LSU in Friday’s final match. FSU won the previous matchup with the Tigers 3-2 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, at the first event of the season. The Seminoles lead the all-time record with LSU 26-3. The Tigers hold a 17-8 record and come into the weekend after splitting their homestretch, defeating 4 USC and Long Beach State, while dropping matches to UCLA and Stanford.

Florida State will begin Saturday against USF. This marks the first meeting between the Seminoles and the Bulls in program history as USF transitions to a full season of play in 2026.

FSU then plays Florida Atlantic in their third meeting of the season. The Seminoles defeated the 15th-ranked Owls in both duals this season and lead the all-time series 18-0. The Owls most recently swept Erskine in DeLand, Florida, to advance to 12-8.

The Seminoles will wrap up the weekend against South Carolina in their first meeting of the season. FSU leads the all-time series with the Gamecocks 25-0, most recently defeating them 3-0 in the 2024 CCSA Championship. The Gamecocks are 8-9 in 2025, falling to No. 12 Arizona State 4-1 in Tempe, Arizona last weekend. Prior to the match, Florida State will recognize graduating seniors Angeline Bergner, Madison Binkley, Anna Long, Maddie Trusty, and Makenna Wolfe.
