Woad Finishes Third At Augusta National Women’s Amateur

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Florida State’s Lottie Woad finished in third place with a 9 under par score of 207 at the sixth annual Augusta National Women’s Amateur championship on the Augusta National Golf Course. The Seminole All-American is the first player in the history of the event to finish in the top five a year after winning the championship and the third player in the history of the championship to earn multiple top-five finishes.

Woad carded four birdies and finished at even par during Saturday’s final round of the championship. She held the lead to begin the round and carded four birdies on her final 11 holes but was unable to catch Carla Bernat Escudar who finished at 4 under par in the final round and 12 under par for the 54-hole championship.

“I think you learn every time you’re in contention,” said Woad in her post tournament interview. “It’s just putting yourself in those positions really. You can’t win every time. I can be pretty happy with how I played this week. The goal coming into it was just to be in contention. So got that; it was a pretty good defense in the end.”

Woad finished in third place behind Bernat (68-68-68=204) and Asterisk Talley (72-66-68=205). Woad was one of 11 players in the field of 71 players who carded scores of par or below par in each of the three rounds of the tournament. The first two rounds of the event were played at the Champions Retreat with the final round coming at Augusta National.

Woad has now earned three consecutive top-13 finishes in three career appearances at the ANWA. She finished as the champion in 2024 (68-71-69=208), in third place in 2025 (65-70-72=207), and in a tie for 13th place in 2023 (77-69-72=218). She is a total of 15 strokes under par in her three AWNA appearances.

Woad, who will join her Seminole teammates at the ACC Championship (April 16-19) in her next collegiate event, is the No. 1 ranked amateur player in the world.

Her play, and her class, were lauded by members of the national media who covered the event.

“A lot of big things ahead for Lottie Woad,” said Mike Tirico of NBC as she walked up the 18th fairway to complete her round.

“Lottie walked away with even par and that tells you the quality of player that she is,” said Paige Mackenize of The Golf Channel. “On a day that she didn’t have her best stuff she was still able to post an even par and put herself in contention once again for the second year in a row … I love her mentality; there was no give-up today. I give her a lot of credit.”
