Softball Falls To Arkansas In Series Finale
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 3/2 Florida softball team dropped its series finale to No. 12/13 Arkansas on Sunday afternoon at Katie Pressly Seashole Stadium, falling to the Razorbacks, 9-5.
With the loss, Arkansas (28-8, 8-7 SEC) clinched the Southeastern Conference series victory over the Gators (34-8, 7-5 SEC).
Reagan Walsh was a bright spot for the Gator offense, hitting her third grand slam of the season and sixth of her career in the first inning.
She finished the weekend with a team-best six RBI against the Razorbacks and went a team-best 2-for-4 at the plate on Sunday.
All five of Florida’s home runs were scored off home runs, with Jocelyn Erickson hitting a solo shot in the fifth, her 10th of the season and third in SEC play.
Four Gators have now tallied double-digit home runs this season: Taylor Shumaker (14), Mia Williams (13), Walsh (11) and Erickson (10).
Kendra Falby extended her on-base streak to 44 games going back to the 2024 season, recording a hit, a walk and a stolen base.
She also holds a team-best nine-game hitting streak, recording at least one hit in all but three of Florida’s 42 games.
In the circle, Ava Brown (9-1) suffered her first loss of the season, pitching the last 2.2 innings, giving up three earned runs.
Katelynn Oxley, who made her 12th start of the year, pitched the first four innings, allowing three runs, two earned, while striking out three.
Olivia Miller pitched one out of relief, entering the game in the top of the fifth and allowing three runs.
