Seminoles’ Gazzoli Finishes In Third At Brickyard Collegiate

MACON, Ga. – Florida State freshman Alexandra Gazzoli carded a 1 under par score of 71 in the second round and finished in a career-best third place in the individual standings at the Brickyard Collegiate at the Brickyard Golf Club. Gazzoli came within one stroke of trying her career-best score for a single round and finished just four strokes out of the lead.  Sloane Biddle of Belmont won the individual championship with a two-round total of 145 and scores of 73-72.

Gazzoli finished as the highest ranking of the three Seminoles in the event. She finished with a two-round total of 147. Senior Kaylah Williams finished with a two-round total of 152 and in a tie for 12th place while freshman Layla Pedrique finished in a tie for 28th place with a 36-hole total of 158.

Gazzoli finished with a near career-low score of 71 in the second round of the tournament. She carded three birdies and improved her individual standing by 20 positions on the second day of play. Gazzoli began the day in a tie for 23rd place and finished third place to earn her second career top 10 individual finish. She finished in a tie for 10th place in the Briar’s Creek Invitational earlier this season.

Williams finished the event with scores of 76-76 and a two-round total of 152. She carded five birdies during her two rounds of play as she earned her second consecutive and fourth top 12 career finish. Williams finished in a career-best second place at the Florida State Match Up at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club in March of 2025. She is averaging 72.40 strokes in her last five round with her career best score of 66 coming in the third round of the Florida State Match Up.

Pedrique finished in a tie for 28th place as she carded scores of 84-74 for a two-round total of 158. She carded a 74 in the second round and improved her single round score by 10 strokes as compared to her first-round score. Pedrique earned the second best single round improvement in the tournament behind only the 11 stroke improvement by Sirichaya Chanpen of North Alabama.

Florida State begins postseason play at the ACC Championship (April 16-19) at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
