Women’s Golf Sits in Third Place After Day One of the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate
ATHENS, Ga. – The Alabama women’s golf team sits in third place overall, with a team total of 19-over par 595 (298-297) in the opening day of the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate. The Crimson Tide is led by Mattison Frick, sitting in 10th place on the player leaderboard at 4-over par 148 (73-75). All five UA golfers sit inside the top 15 on the player leaderboard after 36 holes.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Mattison Frick posted the fifth-lowest average score (4.88, -1) among the field on Par 5 holes
- Sitting in 13th place at 5-over par 149 (74-75), Kennedy Carroll recorded 27 pars in the first two rounds of the tournament, tied for the third most throughout the field
- Ryan Flynn posted four birdies in the first two rounds of the tournament, carding a 6-over par 150 (75-75) in 15thplace
- Tied in 15th place with Flynn is fellow teammate, Harriet Lockley, moving up four spots in the second round of the tournament, ending the day at 6-over par 150 (76-74)
- Molly Brown Davidson rounded out the lineup tied for 15th overall at 6-over par 150 (77-73), posting the lowest score in the second round of the tournament by an Alabama golfer
- Competing as individuals, Julia Sánchez Morales is the fourth UA golfer tied for 15th place at 6-over par 150 (73-77) while Isabella van der Biest is tied for 37th overall at 9-over par 153 (79-74)
TEAM RESULTS
- Georgia State is in first place on the team leaderboard at 5-over par 581 (298-283)
- Queen’s Jillian Fatkin is the clubhouse individual leader at 2-under par 142 (71-71)
