No. 15 Alabama Baseball Wins Series Finale, 7-4, Over No. 9 LSU on Saturday

BATON ROUGE, La. – No. 15 Alabama baseball came out swinging at Alex Box Stadium on Saturday, as the Crimson Tide never wavered, clinching the series finale over the ninth-ranked LSU Tigers with a 7-4 win. The victory improves Alabama to 31-10 overall and 9-9 in Southeastern Conference play.

Zane Adams (5-2) picked up the win on Saturday, tossing 5.0 innings while surrendering just one earned run and scattering four hits. The sophomore southpaw struck out three over his 21 batters faced. Hagan Banks provided important relief in the middle innings, limiting the Tigers to two unearned runs. Matthew Heiberger induced a double play to the only man he faced in the seventh before Carson Ozmer notched his 13th save of the spring. The graduate managed five strikeouts across his 2.0 frames and was responsible for just one run on one hit to convert the multi-inning save.

Richie Bonomolo Jr. opened the scoring for the Tide, launching a three-run home run in the third to give Alabama the early lead. Kade Snell produced his third multi-hit effort of the series, finishing 2-for-3 with three walks. Bryce Fowler posted a 2-for-4 line, including an RBI single, while Justin Lebron, Brady Neal and Brennen Norton each managed an RBI apiece.

  • T3 I Bryce Fowler led off the inning with a single up the middle before Kade Snell worked a one-out walk. Richie Bonomolo Jr. followed Snell with a three-run home run to left. (3-0, Alabama)
  • B3 I The Tigers plated their first run with a solo home run to right-center. (3-1, Alabama)
  • T4 I Coleman Mizell managed a pinch-hit walk, taking second on a wild pitch. With two outs, Fowler singled up the middle to drive in Mizell. (4-1, Alabama)
  • T5 I Snell grounded an infield single to open the inning, reaching third following a two-base throwing error. With one out, Brady Neal dropped a single into left to score Snell. (5-1, Alabama)
  • B6 I A two-out throwing error allowed for a two-run home run. (5-3, Alabama)
  • T9 I Neal and Jason Torres both walked to start the inning before Will Hodo singled to load the bases. With one out, Brennen Norton lined a pinch-hit sacrifice fly to right to plate Neal. Two batters later, Justin Lebron drew a bases-loaded walk to force in a second run. (7-3, Alabama)
  • B9 I Tigers led off the inning with a walk before the next batter recorded an RBI triple. (7-4, Alabama)

  • The Tide improved to 11-7 against top-25 opponents with the victory
  • Alabama drew 10 walks in the win, marking the sixth time this season the Tide has earned at least 10 walks in a single game
