PHILADELPHIA – The No.21/NR Florida State track and field teams competed in distance events at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia at the Franklin Field on Thursday. Highlighted by Zach Leachman.
Running in a competitive field that contained the defending national champion, Zach Leachman turned in his personal best in the men’s 5,000-meter, crossing the line at 13:39.13 in seventh place. His time marks the fifth-fastest in program history.
Emily Brown started off the competition on the women’s side in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 13th at 10:18.39.
Brooke Mullins added a top 10 finish behind a personal best in the women’s 5,000-meter, placing seventh at 16:03.00.
The LSU Alumni Gold Invitational in Baton Rouge, Louisiana will start on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. ET and will feature the sprints, jumps and throws groups. Live timing will be available through Seminoles.com.
