Bomb Threat Suspect Arrested in Oklahoma

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into a bomb threat made via the internet that occurred on March 28, 2025. This threat stemmed from Okaloosa County’s purchase and future plans for the ship the S.S. United States. During this investigation, the suspect was identified as Trey Everts Roots, who is currently residing in Cherokee, Oklahoma.
Upon notification of the case and its findings to the Oklahoma District 26, District Attorney’s Council, they initiated an investigation where ROOTS was ultimately arrested and charged with ~21 O.S.S. 1767.1(a)(7) Making a Bomb Threat and ~ 21 O.S.S. 1958 Violation of Oklahoma Statute Via a Computer. Their investigation was aided by the Cherokee Police Department and Alfalfa Sheriff’s Office in Cherokee, Oklahoma.
The investigation yielded that ROOTS was not in possession of precursor materials for making a bomb, nor was he ever in Okaloosa County.
