Destin Dolphin Cheer Program

The City of Destin is accepting registrations for the Destin Dolphins Cheerleading program through May 2, 2025, at the Destin Community Center. The program is designed for youth ages 7 through 12 years (as of July 1, 2025). Birth Certificate is required. The cost is $75.00 for non-Destin residents and $50.00 for Destin residents plus the cost of a uniform. Practices begin the week of June 2, 2025, from 5:30pm-6:30pm on Wednesday’s. Basketball Clinic

The City of Destin will hold a Youth Basketball Camp, at the Destin Community Center (101 Stahlman Ave), for children ages 12-14. Camp will be on May 27, 2025 from 6pm-8pm. The camp will be ran by former college coaches and current prep school staffs. The children will learn basic fundamentals and play games. The fee for this camp is $30 for Destin residents and $40 for non-residents. Fitness/ Activities

CHAIR YOGA:

Destin Community Center offers a Chair Yoga class on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00-11:00am.  Chair Yoga consists of performing traditional yoga poses from a chair for lower impact.  The cost is $6 per class and is open to everyone.  For more information call 850-654-5184.

SHAPE AND SCULPT: Beginning March 10, 2025, the City of Destin will be offering a Shape and Sculpt fitness class on Wednesdays from 8:30 to 9:30am.  This light-weight workout is set to fun music with a focus on strengthening your muscles, balance, and core.  Classes are $5 per class and are open to all ages and fitness levels.  For more information, please call 850-654-5184.

 

PICKLEBALL: Play Pickleball at Destin Community Center. Sessions are:  Mondays (12:00pm – 2:00pm), Wednesdays (10:30am – 12:30pm) & Fridays (10:30am – 12:30pm) and (1:00pm – 3:00pm). Wednesdays we will be offering a session for Beginners Open Play (1:00pm – 3:00pm).  Fee: $5.00. Racquets and balls are available – just bring your gym shoes!

 

ADULT YOGA at DCC:

The Destin Community Center offers Hatha Yoga classes for all levels every Thursday at 6:00pm. The class will focus on breathing, controlled movements, and stretching. The class will also include Vinyasa Yoga which will consist of breathing exercises and short meditation. The cost per class is $5.00. Events:

Summer Half-Day Camp:

A summer day camp will be offered at the Destin Community Center from 9:00am-1:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a lunch program from 12:00-1:00pm.  The camp is for children ages 5-12 years old (birth certificate required) and costs $115.00 per week for Non-Destin resident and $85.00 per week for Destin resident.  Pre-registration is required as spaces are limited, register online at www.cityofdestin.com/reconline. Each day will be a morning full of fun activities including games, crafts, swim days (towel and swimsuit required), structured playtime, and snacks.  The camp runs every week from June 2 – August 1, 2025, with no camp June 19th and the week of June 30 – July 4, 2025.  Please call 850-654-5184 for more information.

Painting at the Park:

The Destin Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Painting class at Captain Royal Melvin Heritage Park, the class is open to everyone, families welcome! The event will be on Saturday, April 5th from 10:00am-12:00pm. Snacks and refreshment included. The cost is $40 for non- Destin residents and $30 for Destin residents. The event is outdoors. Programs:

Youth DODGEBALL:  All summer long the Destin Community Center will host open Youth Dodgeball on Thursday nights from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.  Children ages 8 to 12 are welcome to participate in a night filled with friends, fun and dodgeball!  The fee is $3/session non-residents and $2/session Destin residents. ADULT OPEN GYM:
 The Destin Community Center will host an Adult Basketball night on Monday nights allowing 17+ to participate in a full court play! Fee is $5.00. For additional information, please call:(850)654-5184.

 KIDZ KLUB:
 The Destin Community Center offers an After-School Recreation Program, Kidz Klub from Monday through Friday after school until 5:30pm. There will be homework help, structured games, snacks, and Arts & Crafts! DESTIN TABLE TENNIS:  Table Tennis at the Destin Community Center is available for spirited competition on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00am until 1:00pm. $2/Non-Residents and free for Active Destin Senior residents.  For more information call 850-654-5184.

 

Coming up in May! The City of Destin will host a Youth Tackle Football league.  Registration is May 2^nd – May 16^th for children ages 5-12 (age as of July 1, 2025).  The fee is $150 for residents and $225 for non-residents. Birth Certificate is required with registration. Registration can be completed online at: www.cityofdestin.com/reconline. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
