Two Former Alabama Football Players Selected on Night One of 2025 NFL Draft
GREEN BAY, Wisc. – The University of Alabama football program had two former players selected in round one of the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night in Green Bay. Offensive tackle Tyler Booker was selected by the Dallas Cowboys at No. 12, followed by linebacker Jihaad Campbell going at No. 31 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
With two selections on the opening night of the Draft, the Crimson Tide has produced at least one first-round pick in each of the last 17 years and 49 first-rounders in total over that stretch. The group of 49 are as follows:

Draft Notes
- Alabama has had at least one player selected in the first round of 17 straight drafts (2009-Present), which is the NCAA record. The Crimson Tide surpassed the previous record held by Miami, with the Hurricanes producing a first-rounder in 14 consecutive drafts from 1995-08.
- With Alabama’s two selections this evening, the Crimson Tide has produced multiple first-round picks in 14 of the last 17 NFL Drafts. The Tide had just one first-round pick in 2009, 2015 and 2016.
- Since 2000, the Crimson Tide has produced an NCAA-leading 51 first-rounders, a number that is nine better than the next closest school Ohio State (42).
- Since 2010, Alabama has had an NCAA-leading 48 players selected in the first round, a number that nearly doubles the next closest school Ohio State (29).
The second and third rounds will take place on Friday at 6 p.m. CT. The 2025 NFL Draft concludes with rounds four through seven on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. CT. The remaining rounds will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network.
Alabama First Round Recap
Tyler Booker, Offensive Lineman (No. 12 | Dallas Cowboys)
A two-year starter and three-year contributor, Booker served as one of the Crimson Tide’s most dominant linemen during his time in Tuscaloosa. As a junior, he was selected as a permanent team captain and earned All-SEC and All-America honors after starting all 13 games, including 12 at left guard and one at left tackle. Booker recorded a team-high 92 knockdown blocks (7.1 per game) across his team-leading 778 snaps in 2024. The New Haven, Conn., native allowed just half a sack as a junior and finished with a team-high 92.3 grade from the Alabama coaching staff. Booker earned the starting left guard role as a sophomore and started 13 games for the Tide on his way to All-SEC accolades. In 2022, he was named to the Freshman All-SEC Team and was a Freshman All-American by Pro Football Focus. Booker played in 12 games during his first season at the Capstone, rotating at both guard spots before earning his first career start in the Sugar Bowl. As a freshman, he totaled 420 snaps and produced 30 knockdown blocks while allowing just one sack and three pressures on the year.
Jihaad Campbell, Linebacker (No. 31 | Philadelphia Eagles)
Considered one of the most versatile linebackers in the Draft, Campbell played in 35 games with 21 starts for the Crimson Tide, including all 13 games as a junior. He accumulated 184 career tackles, including 15.5 for loss (-65 yards) and 5.5 sacks (-41 yards), with a majority of his production coming during a breakout junior campaign. That junior season saw Campbell rack up a team-high 117 tackles, good for fifth in the SEC and eighth on Alabama’s all-time single-season list. The Erial, N.J., native added five sacks (-39 yards) and a team-high 11.5 tackles for loss (-55 yards) to go with an interception, one fumble recovery, two forced fumbles, a pair of pass breakups and two quarterback hurries. Campbell played in 13 games with eight starts as a sophomore, finishing third on UA in tackles with 66, including four for loss (-9 yards) and half a sack (-2 yards). He also contributed three quarterback pressures, three pass breakups, an interception and two fumble recoveries in 2023. During his first season on campus, Campbell worked on special teams while also rotating in at linebacker. He finished with one tackle across nine games of action in 2022.
