Team Home Arnold Marlins Sports
Panama City Beach – The Arnold Volleyball team hosted the FL-USA Volleyball Challenge last Friday and Saturday on the campus of Arnold High School. Eight teams from 2 states were competing for a chance to be crowned champions. The Marlins welcomed South Walton (FL), Wakulla (FL), Florida High (FL), Baker (FL), Bartram Trail (FL), Winter Springs (FL) and Lee County (GA) to The MAC for a weekend full of competitive volleyball.
Arnold got it started Friday, by taking on a strong Winter Springs team and later on a Bartram Trail team who both ended up making it to the tournament semi-finals. They fell 2-1 and 2-0 in those contest.
On Saturday, the Marlins turned the table and got two big wins over Lee County 2-0 and Baker 2-1. Senior Zoey Vandel had 21 kills throughout both games and Senior Cheyenne Travis led the team with 3 aces in game 1 with Sophomore Makenzie Vandel contributing 5 aces in game 2.
The Marlins (6-4) finished the FL-USA Volleyball Challenge 2-2 and will host the Mosley Dolphins (8-3) tomorrow night in The MAC. JV is set for 5PM with Varsity immediately after.
