Liv McGill Named to SEC All-Freshmen Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— The Southeastern Conference announced its 2025 women’s basketball postseason awards Tuesday morning. Florida’s Liv McGill represents the Gators, being named to the SEC All-Freshmen Team.
 
McGill earns the post season honor after leading all freshmen in the country for assists per game and total assists. In her 30 games played, McGill has distributed 151 assists, averaging five per outing. McGill also stands in nation’s top-5 for scoring across all freshmen, posting a combined 486 points in her first collegiate season.
 
McGill currently averages 16.2 points per game and has hit double figures in the scoring column 27 of her 30 times out (90%). 11 of her outings as a Gator were 20+ point performances and she set her career high at Florida State, posting 28 points on Nov. 22, 2024.
 
During her freshmen year, McGill has made an immediate impact on the Gators and currently leads the team in several categories: total points (486), points per game (16.2), made field goals (183), assists (151), steals (57), and minutes played (30:32).

First-team and second-team All-SEC honorees, All-Freshman team, All-Defensive team, along with Player, Coach, Newcomer, Freshman, Defensive Player, 6th Player and Scholar-Athlete of the Year were chosen by the league’s 16 coaches.

 

Coaches cannot vote for their own team or players and ties are not broken.
