Houston Mallette Named to the SEC Community Service Team
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men’s basketball guard Houston Mallette center was named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the conference announced Thursday.
This marks the 27th year for the SEC Community Service Team for men’s basketball as well as for women’s basketball. All 22 league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men’s and women’s sports being chosen from 1999-2003. The SEC began this concept with a football Community Service Team in 1994.
- A member of the Alabama Athletics Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
- Participated in Make-a-Wish’s Three-Point shootout, raising over 800 dollars
- Made trips to the Children of Alabama Hospital, spending time with patients playing board games and video games
- Participated in the Crimson Tide Athletics Halloween Extravaganza with members of the West Alabama community filling the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility
- This past December, Houston completed his undergraduate degree in Human Environmental Sciences and is pursuing a double-masters in sports management and marketing
