Andersen Earns Place on SEC Community Service Team
A native of Tampa, Fla., Andersen co-founded and serves on the executive committee for the local Gainesville chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization that builds, assembles and delivers beds to children and families in need. Since its founding in late 2023, the Gainesville chapter has built and delivered more than 100 beds to local homes.
Andersen oversees the fundraising portion of the chapter, and helped raise more than $50,000 for the endeavor in 2024. He also takes part in the hands-on building and delivery of the beds, assisting in build days that bring around 100 volunteers together to build the beds and helping deliver and assemble beds in homes on a regular basis.
Andersen graduated Cum Laude in Summer 2024 with a degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering. He served as a manager on the men’s basketball team for three seasons before being promoted to the roster in 2023.
