This weekend’s three games cap a five-game week for the Seminoles, the only time this season they have two midweek contests on the schedule.

HOT START FOR THE RECORD BOOKS
FSU is unbeaten on the year with a 13-0 record. One of five teams without a loss in 2025, FSU is joined by Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia. Last year, the Seminoles opened the year 19-0 and were the last team in the country without a defeat.

For the first time in program history, FSU has started back-to-back seasons at 13-0 or better, with this year’s mark going along with 2024’s 19-0 start. Florida State had two back-to-back years of 12-0 starts or better before the current two-year run eclipsed that, in 2007-08 and 2018-19.

NOLES BY THE NUMBERS
Florida State has scored 119 runs on 158 hits with a .341 batting average, 17 home runs, 69 walks and 25 stolen bases. The pitching staff owns a 2.37 ERA with 30 earned runs allowed in 114.0 innings with 79 hits, 151 strikeouts and 45 walks.

Junior infielder Alex Lodise leads the team with a .473 batting average, 26 hits, four home runs and four doubles. Junior outfielder Gage Harrelson is hitting .386 with 22 hits and paces the team with 15 RBI. Harrelson has a hit in all 13 games and Lodise is just behind him with a 12-game hit streak. Junior center fielder Max Williams shares the team lead with four homers and freshman first baseman Myles Bailey joins Lodise with four doubles. On the mound, junior lefty Joey Volini is 3-0 with a 1.10 ERA in three starts, and sophomore left-hander Wes Mendes is 2-0 with a 0.60 ERA in two starts. Junior left-hander Jamie Arnold joins Mendes and Volini with 24 strikeouts. Among relievers, junior righty Maison Martinez has a 0.87 ERA in 10.1 innings with one run on seven hits with 15 strikeouts.

NATIONALY-RANKED SEMINOLES
The Seminoles moved up in three major polls this week, including to No. 6 in the D1Baseball top-25. They are No. 4 in the Baseball America, poll and No. 5 in the Coaches, NCBWA, The Athletic and Perfect Game rankings. College Baseball Central has FSU at No. 3.

SERIES HISTORY VS. LIPSCOMB
Florida State and Lipscomb will meet for the first time this weekend. FSU has played five of the 12 Atlantic Sun teams, including four of them in 2024 and 2025. The Seminoles are 5-0 against Austin Peay, 13-7 vs. Florida Gulf Coast, 136-42 against Jacksonville, 13-4 vs. North Florida and 69-26 against Stetson.

FSU beat Jacksonville 9-6 on the road on February 26, before a 10-1 home win over North Florida on March 4. JU will come to Howser on April 1 and May 6. Florida State also went 6-0 against FGCU, JU, UNF and Stetson in 2024.

SCOUTING THE BISONS
Lipscomb is 4-8 in 2025 following a 9-5 win over Western Michigan on Tuesday. Last weekend, LU lost a three-game series to Villanova, with an 8-0 victory followed by 8-3 and 7-6 defeats. The Nova win snapped a five-game losing streak, including four to still-unbeaten West Virginia.

UP NEXT: RIVALRY AT HOWSER
The Seminoles host in-state rival and No. 7-ranked Florida on March 11. First pitch is at 6 p.m. ET. The game is sold out to the general public, but fans can purchase tickets on SeatGeek. Limited tickets for FSU students remain available, and admission is free for all FSU students with their I.D.

LAST TIME OUT: TWO MIDWEEK WINS
Florida State earned a pair of midweek victories this week, beginning with a 10-1 win over North Florida on Tuesday. Bailey hit two home runs, junior right-handed starter Evan Chrest had a strong outing to earn the win and the defense made several fine plays, including a highlight-worthy play by Lodise. Florida State scored in the first inning and never looked back, taking a 2-0 lead after one and answering a one-run second for UNF with the next eight unanswered.

On Wednesday, a four-run first inning helped lead FSU to a 9-7 victory over Bethune-Cookman. Williams homered and had a career-best five RBI and a career-high-tying four hits with two runs scored in five at-bats. He also made a fantastic catch in center field to round out the night. On the mound, redshirt freshman left-hander Payton Manca made his second collegiate appearance and first start and earned the win, while sophomore righty Chris Knier got the final three outs and picked up his second save.
