TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 23 Alabama baseball team produced its second shutout win of the season on Friday, as the Crimson Tide rolled to a 10-0 win over Presbyterian at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The game was made official after seven innings due to the 10-run rule, with the victory improving the Tide to 15-0 to begin the new spring.

Zane Adams (3-0) crafted a rousing effort on the mound in his fourth start of the spring, surrendering just five hits without a walk while striking out a career-high 10 hitters over the course of his 6.0 innings. The sophomore struck out the side in the third in addition to managing at least one strikeout in five of his six innings. Zach Kittrell and Connor Ball combined to toss a scoreless seventh prior to the run-rule taking effect.

Justin Lebron was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI, stretching his nation-leading RBI total to 37. Will Hodo closed the night 3-for-4 with a double, while Jason Torres managed a 2-for-4 effort, including the walk-off RBI single in the seventh. Brady Neal was 1-for-2 with two RBI, as Brennen Norton and Kade Snell tallied one hit apiece.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn

“It starts with the dude on the mound. Zane (Adams) was awesome tonight and just set the tone early. He was very efficient – it’s hard to punch out 10 and still go deep in the game, and that’s what he did. His punchouts were efficient and he had a really good changeup tonight. I loved the way that we competed, loved the way that we threw the ball – we walked one batter and punched out 11. You’re going to win most games when you do that.”

How It Happened

  • B2 | Jason Torres singled to open the inning before Will Hodo doubled, putting two in scoring position. Brennen Norton followed with a double to center field, scoring Torres. After a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases, Brady Neal reached on a two-base error, plating Hodo. Richie Bonomolo Jr. lifted a sacrifice fly, preceding Justin Lebron’s RBI double. (5-0, Alabama)
  • B4 I With one out, Neal and Bonomolo Jr. walked, while Bryce Fowler was hit by a pitch. With the bases loaded, Lebron lined a single into right to bring in Neal. With the bases still full, Coleman Mizell bounced into a fielder’s choice to score a second run. (7-0, Alabama)
  • B5 I Hodo and Snell managed base-hits to put runners on the corners with one out. Neal lined a single of his own into right-center, plating Hodo. (8-0, Alabama)
  • B7 I Snell reached on error to open the inning and was moved to second following a sacrifice bunt. After Fowler walked, Lebron sent a single into left to score Snell. Mizell drew a walk, leading to Torres’ walk-off RBI single to initiate the 10-run rule. (10-0 Alabama)
