Alabama Advances Two to Finals on Second Day of NCAA Zone Championships
AUBURN, Ala. – The Alabama diving team closed the second day of competition at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships with Rin Drudge and Nigel Chambers earning a finals appearance in the 1m and 3m springboard events, respectively.
With a score of 46.80, Rin Drudge moved from 23rd to 16th with her final dive, securing her spot in the finals of the women’s 1m board with a 247.75. She would go on to better the performance in the finals, scoring a 276.5 for a combined 524.25 score. Drudge finished the event in 14th place.
Nigel Chambers used a 327.75 in the prelims of the 3m dive to qualify for next round. He would also better his prelim performance, recording a 340.75 to move to a 15th-place finish.
