RALEIGH – The Florida State men’s tennis team dropped at No. 5 NC State 4-0 on Friday evening.

The doubles round held its usual flavor of intensity as Alex Bulte and Youcef Rihane engaged in a back-and-forth top-10 battle on Court 1 while Joshua Dous-Karpenschif and Jan Sebesta overcame a three-game deficit to find themselves within one game on Court 2.

Corey Craig and Azariah Rusher came out of the gates convincingly and rushed out to a 3-1 lead. The duo controlled the remainder of the match to claim their first-ever win as a pairing on Court 3. The remaining courts finished with a 6-4 score in favor of the Wolfpack.

The two teams split the first set in singles play as the Seminoles won on all three front courts. Craig and Bulte each won their opening sets over ranked opponents 7-5 and 6-4, respectively, before Jamie Connel held firm with a 7-5 first-set tiebreaker win on Court 2.

NC State finished their matches on the back courts, winning in straight sets on Courts 4-6 to clinch the match.

Florida State will finish the final match of its two-week road stretch at No. 1 Wake Forest on Sunday at 1 p.m.  Live video and stats will be available on Seminoles.com.
