GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The six finalists for the 2025 AAI Award includes University of Florida senior Leanne Wong.  The American Athletic Inc., honors one senior student-athlete each year from NCAA Division I women’s gymnastics.

AAI will announce the winner next month at the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships’ awards banquet in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Gator All-American is one of 15 in NCAA history to achieve a Gym Slam – a 10.0 in each of the four events. Throughout her collegiate career, Wong also represented the U.S. at the highest level. She won medals at the last three World Championships, including team gold in 2022 and 2023 and was a replacement athlete for the U.S.’s 2020 and 2024 Olympic teams.
 
Wong’s Gator Career:
· 22-time All-American
· 2024 NCAA uneven bars champion
· Gym Slam (10.0 in each apparatus)

· 2022 & 2023 SEC balance beam champion

· 2022 SEC All-Freshman Team

· SEC Freshman of the Week (1x)
· 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America first team

· 2022 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll
 
Wong also makes an impact outside the competition arena. She’s a 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America first-team selection who has her eye on medical school. In the fall of 2024, she started the Leanne Wong Foundation with a focus on those with food insecurity. Already more than 7,000 meals have been provided to those in the Gainesville community from the foundation. Nicknamed ‘the CEO’, Wong also runs a successful bow/leotard business.

Post-season action begins Saturday at the 44th edition of the Southeastern Conference Championships.
