Bragg and Davies Named Tewaaraton Top-25 Nominees
It is the 14th consecutive season the Gators have had a player on the top-25 list (excluding 2020), amounting to a total of 23 top-25 nominations in program history.
The list of 25 finalists was cut down from 73 athletes, which was made up of the initial watch list, first round additions and second round additions. Florida joins Boston College, North Carolina, Northwestern and Michigan as one of five schools with two or more players in the top-25.
Theresa Bragg – Junior – Defender – Severna Park, Md.
Bragg has started all 15 games for the Gators, leading the team with 23 caused turnovers, along with 19 ground balls and three draw controls. The Severna Park, Md. native has six games this season with two or more caused turnovers and five games with two or more ground balls.
The defender earned Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Second Team honors on March 27 and has been named Big 12 Defender of the Week three times this season.
Kaitlyn Davies – Junior – Midfielder – Wayne, N.J.
Davies has started all 15 games for UF, posting 31 goals, five assists, 20 ground balls, 15 caused turnovers and 25 draw controls. The Wayne, N.J. native has compiled 10 multi-goal games and five hat-tricks this season, along with seven games with two or more draw controls, three games with two or more caused turnovers and six games with two or more ground balls.
The midfielder earned Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Second Team honors on March 27 and has been named Big 12 Midfielder of the Week once.
The field will be reduced to five finalists in early May. The Tewaaraton finalists will be honored after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season, with the men’s and women’s winners announced on May 29 at the Tewaaraton Ceremony in Washington, D.C.

The Tewaaraton honors the most outstanding male and female players in the sport, and is lacrosse’s most prestigious award. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
